In case we haven’t met, my name is Clair Condit, and I’m a marketing strategist for classical musicians who are ready to up their impact and income. What is Marketing?

Spoiler alert! Marketing is all about connecting and communicating value. Watch this quick introductory lesson to learn more about what marketing is and how the concept will play out in your overall marketing strategy.

Understand Your Audience

It’s crucial to understand your audience. Who are they? Where do they hang out? What do they need? What do they want? When you have an understanding of your audience, you can then cater your product – and how you market it – to be the answer to your audience’s needs and wants. This lesson will help you understand your audience.

Create Your Product

In order to have a business, you need to have something to sell. This can take the form of concerts, teaching, physical products, services…or anything else you can dream up! This lesson helps you build on what you know about your audience to create products that they (and you!) will love.

Set Your Prices

Setting prices can sometimes feel like a shot in the dark! But this lesson helps shine a light on the topic so you can establish a healthy mindset around earning money and do the math with practical strategies to help set your prices.

Creating

The creating stage is where you turn the building blocks of your plan into action to create marketing materials like your brand style guide, logo and website. At this point, you know exactly what you do and who you serve. Now it’s time to create the visual and written manifestation of your brand.

Write Your Bio

Your bio has the power to draw people in, making an instant connection that leaves them wanting more. But so many classical musician bios end up sounding exactly the same. Colors, Fonts and Images – Oh My!

Branding is more than visuals, but a cohesive visual identity is key to creating a compelling brand that’s consistent across all of your marketing channels. Watch this lesson to make decisions about your brand’s visual identity.

Then watch this lesson to learn how to use Canva to create compelling images for the web.

Create Your Logo

You’ve decided on your colors and fonts. Now it’s time to create your logo! You could hire this out to a freelancer. You could also use Canva to help get the creative juices flowing. But my favorite way to create a DIY logo (without a subscription to or learning how to use Adobe Photoshop) is by using PowerPoint (or Apple Pages or Google Slides). Do a Website Audit

If you already have a website, is it acting like your BEST salesperson? If not, then this lesson will give you a framework to audit your current site so that it’s working FOR you instead of AGAINST you. Be sure to watch this lesson even if you don’t already have a website since it’ll show you how to set up a domain name and set you up with a solid foundation before starting your site.

Plan and Write Your Website

Creating a website from scratch can feel like staring at a blank canvas with no clue what you want to paint. But with a little bit of strategy and structure, you’ll be up and running in no time! This lesson walks you through how to create a sitemap for your pages and gives you the key points to write about on each page – with extra writing tips included!

Build Your Website

You’re a man (or woman!) with a plan! And now it’s time to take your written website pages and make them a reality on the good ol’ World Wide Web! Get stared by choosing which platform you’ll use in this informative lesson.

Then learn about additional tech add-ons you can use to do things like host your electronic press kit and manage your private teaching studio in this lesson. You’ll also get a quick tutorial of how to use Google Analytics to track and measure you’re site’s stats. (It’s not that tricky – I promise!)

Promoting

Once your website is up and running, it’s time to focus on driving people to your website so you can turn them into raving fans (AKA paying audiences, customers, students and people who want to hire you for gigs)! This is the stage where you’ll really start building momentum to grow your impact AND income! And since a key success factor of any marketing plan is consistency, this stage is never actually “finished.” You’ll want to keep revisiting and building on these lessons over time.

The aim of this stage is for you to be able to grow your business as a musician by confidently marketing yourself online, offline and in the media.

Social media is certainly fun to hang out on and keep up with that long lost friend you haven’t talked to in 7 years, but have you thought about how to use it to promote your business? This lesson takes a deep dive into why social media matters, how to find out which social media platforms are best for your audience and then how to utilize each social media outlet to engage with your audience. Start Email Marketing

When it comes to getting a return on your investment, email consistently delivers the best results. Will I get any 1-on-1 interaction with Clair?

YES! I’m active in the Facebook group on a daily basis (Mon. through Sat.) to provide feedback, answers to your questions and spark inspiration.

Once a month, in our Marketing Masterclass, you’ll have the opportunity to sign up for a “hot seat,” where we’ll have 15 minutes of focused discussion around your specific project. During the hot seats, I’ll give feedback on publicity plans, press releases, website reviews, marketing strategies…you name it!

Sounds great…but, do I have the time?

Between teaching, practicing and running your life/business as a musician, you’re busy! And I get that. Are refunds available?

While we would hate to see you go, if you are dissatisfied with your purchase for any reason, you will be able to cancel any future payments. To cancel, all you need to do is login to The Studio and click on “Account,” where you can cancel your account at any time. After cancelling, please note that your ability to log into the member site will end after your current membership period is completed. Our whole ensemble wants to join. How does that work?

Each membership is tied to an individual email address, so each member would need their own account to access the training materials. There are two ways for ensembles to get the most out of membership in The Studio:

  • Assign one member of your ensemble to be the point person for your marketing, and only that person will have a membership with access to the training and community support.
